Internet Data Exchange (IDX)

What is it?

The IDX (Internet Data Exchange) is a National Association of REALTORS®️ initiative whereby brokers give each other permission to display their listings on each others web sites. Brokers who participate can display other participating brokers' active listings. If you choose NOT  to participate, no other broker will be permitted to display your listings. However, even if you don’t have your own web site, by participating in IDX you can include your listings in other participants’ web sites.

As part of the NAR program guidelines, all brokers are automatically signed up. If, however, you decide you do not want to participate, you can cancel it through the Internet Advertising Permissions page in RealTracs.

Selecting your Internet Advertising Settings sets up visibility to MLS subscribers and allows Realtracs to distribute the listings to third party websites.  Realtracs will make listings to other brokers that have a Virtual Office Website (VOW).  This includes brokers such as Redfin, Compass and Zillow.  

Agents CAN prevent making the listing available on Virtual Office Websites by changing the 'Market Publicly' setting to NO when entering a listing into Realtracs.  Regardless of the 'Market Publicly' setting, MLS subscribers will still be able to view the listing, share the listing with their clients manually, and share it via Auto Notify.  The listing will also always be available to partners such as Transaction Desk and Cloud CMA for the exclusive benefit of other MLS subscribers.

1.  Hover over My Listings and select 'Internet Advertising '.

2.  To opt-in or opt-out of the various internet advertisers or IDX program toggle the on/off switch to the left of each advertiser.
